Alistair Lax
Alistair began his legal career in Terrace with Penner Law in August 2018 and was called to the bar the following year. His early practice included a broad range of matters—from criminal and family law to wills & estates, employment issues, and civil litigation. Today, Alistair focuses on civil law, with an emphasis on family law, real estate transactions, and general litigation.
Whether you’re navigating a family separation, completing a property deal, questioning a severance package, or facing a dispute with a neighbour or business partner, Alistair offers practical advice tailored to your goals. He combines thoughtful legal strategy with a grounded, realistic approach to protect your interests. While he works to resolve matters efficiently and outside of court when possible, he regularly represents clients in BC’s Provincial and Supreme Courts.
Raised across British Columbia—including time in Victoria, Kelowna, Prince George, and Kamloops—Alistair brings a diverse background to his legal practice. Before law, he held roles ranging from heavy equipment operator to computer sales, giving him a broad perspective on the people and industries he serves.
Outside of work, Alistair enjoys trail running, snowboarding, and exploring the outdoors around Terrace. He also unwinds by leading adventurers through virtual quests in online games—proving that whether in the courtroom or the gaming world, he’s always up for a challenge.
